The top 10 VITEEE Rank holders: 2015-16

The results for the Engineering Entrance Exam conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) have been declared on the official website. The candidates can fetch the results by inserting their application number, date of birth and Captcha code online. Website: http://academics2.vit.ac.in/results/

The top 10 Rank holders are listed below:

Rank 2: Archit Gupta
Rank 3: Sagar Goyal
Rank 4: Abhishek Pathak
Rank 5: Anup Agarwal
Rank 6: P S E Sai Prakash Reddy
Rank 7: Kapuganti Kaushik
Rank 8: Simi Karan
Rank 9: Aman Singh
Rank 10: Arpan Banerjee

Only one girl stands in the top 10 rank holders' list at Rank 8, wherein all the other ranks are secured by male candidates.

Merely qualifying VITEEE and being called for counselling, does not guarantee admission to him/her. It will depend on the candidate's All India Rank in the VITEEE entrance examination and upon the availability of a seat in the campus of their choice, when their turn comes.

CBSE Pre-exam counselling: begins Today

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is providing a pre-exam psychological counseling to students and parents from February 2, 2015. The annual counselling programme has been designed keeping in mind the heterogeneity of students' population and geographical spread. It is in its 18th year now and will continue till April 20, 2015.

CBSE tries to reach a wide audience through multiple modes of communication such as telephonic counselling, question answer columns in newspapers and online counselling, during this phase. The sessions to begin from February 2 will be in continuation till April 12.

According to a CBSE statement, this year 72 principals, trained counsellors from CBSE affiliated government and private schools and few psychologists will participate in tele-counselling and address exam related psychological problems of the students. Besides, 62 counsellors are from India whereas 10 are located in various countries like Nepal, Saudi Arabia (Al Khobar), Oman, UAE (Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah) and Kuwait.

Also, CBSE is providing counselling sessions for specially-abled children.
