More about the exam: 

The XAT usually comprises 3 sections with total 120 multiple choice questions - with a time limit of 40 minutes for each of the following section: Verbal and Logical Ability (38 questions), Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (44questions), and the third section is Analytical Reasoning and Decision Making (38 questions). An additional 20 minutes are given for an essay of approximate 250 –300 words on topics of social relevance.

Scoring scheme:

Marks for correct answer: +1. 

Marks for wrong answer: -1/4 for first six wrong answers in each section & - 1/2 mark for the remaining wrong answers.

Venue of the exam:  across 33 cities in the country.
